Bennett and Game are currently working with a client based in Walsall, looking for a design technician to support their design team in the projects they currently have on going. Design Technician Position Overview
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, fellow engineering staff, and the Sales Team to convert engineering inquiries into drawings and quotations for equipment on hire and sale basis.
  • Seek assistance from engineering colleagues for product calculations and applications as needed.
  • Support customer orders by producing final drawings, cost estimates, progress paperwork, and managing variations for each project.
  • Take proactive responsibility for Health and Safety issues.
  • Work in accordance with Procedures and other relevant protocols.
  • Engage in continuous learning and Civil Engineering methods to enhance expertise.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative environment within the engineering team.
  • Undertake office administration tasks as required as part of job duties.
  • To build a knowledge and skill level for the abilities required of a Temporary Works Designer.
Design Technician Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar software necessary to create precise and detailed models and drawings.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and utilize information effectively to produce suitable models and drawings.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team to fulfil design requirements.
  • Effective communication skills for internal and external collaboration to gather necessary information.
  • Understanding of best practices and ability to acquire information to complete tasks efficiently
  • Prepares details drawings and other documents for manufacture and erection of steel / mechanical members.
  • Temporary works experience would be advantageous, but not necessary. However, candidate will be trained into this industry for career progression.
Design Technician Position Remuneration
  • Holiday - 25 days Jan to Dec
  • Pension - they can join Royal London and pay between 4.5% to 20% of salary and the employer matches up to 8%. They also get free life insurance.
  • Car allowances - none
  • Bonus - 14% of salary dependant on achievement of profits
  • Soft benefits too - They but additional holiday, EAP
