JOB – Production Engineer LOCATION – WalsallTERM- PermanentSALARY – £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)We are looking for a Production Engineer on a permanent basis in the Walsall area with experience in the assembly, electro-mechanical, electronics or similar Manufacturing Industry. We are also considering more junior options or Graduate Manufacturing Engineers.The Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Qualified in a relevant Engineering / Manufacturing Degree with time served as an Engineer.
  • Previous experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of assembly, electronics or electromechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to NPI or tooling / jigs and fixtures.
  • Have the ability to communicate with other members of staff and management.
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 environment would be beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as team
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma would be advantageous.
The Manufacturing Engineer role will involve:
  • Oversee and lead process improvement and continuous improvement projects within manufacturing.
  • Managing day to day planning to ensure correct BOM’s, Tooling and Routing’s are in place.
  • Liaising with the management team to advise where manufacturing processes can improve efficiency, reduce waste costs and contribute culture of continuous improvement.
  • Carrying out new process implementations.
  • Helping to advise on factory layouts and new product introductions.
