We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Walsall to appoint an experienced Housing and Welfare Officer to join their Homeless Prevention Services Team.

Role Overview:

Within this role, you'll provide professional, customer-focused homelessness and housing solutions, prioritising prevention and relief.

Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive and high quality, customer-focused housing options service to applicants - Conduct assessments, evaluating evidence and make decisions in accordance with legislation - Negotiate with landlords, parents and other agencies, both statutory and non-statutory to find the best solutions to customers' housing and support needs - Determine a customer's need for emergency temporary accommodation and arrange suitable placements - Manage a caseload and maintain accurate case records to ensure excellent customer service

Requirements: - Have a good working knowledge of Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996
