Are you experienced in Housing & Welfare and available for new temporary assignment? We are looking for Housing & Welfare Officers to provide a highly specialised Housing and Welfare service an all matters relating to Housing, Housing rights in accordance with the homelessness legislation, income maximisation, promotion of welfare benefits, protection of welfare rights and the delivery of increased prosperity and wellbeing to customers across the borough in accordance with Council policy, procedure and objectives.

Based in Walsall, hybrid 2 days per week office. Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday paying £19.61 per hour PAYE; which is equivalent to approximately £38K salary or £25 per hour through an umbrella. Must be able to:

  • To cover standby and call out on a rota basis
  • Out-of-hours working and weekends (i.e. outside flexi-time hours)
  • To meet the needs of the service through supporting customers in an emergency as required.
  • To work from a variety of locations across Walsall

Applicants should have proven experience of working in line with Housing Legislation, Welfare Benefits, Housing and Council Tax benefit, money management, regulations and working practices.
