Role Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Plant Fitter to join our team. The Plant Fitter will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:


- Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of plant machinery and equipment, including excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, and other construction equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with plant machinery, identifying the root cause of problems and implementing effective repair solutions.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of components, parts, and systems, following manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures.
- Perform safety inspections and testing of equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory using the company's maintenance management system.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repair requests, prioritizing tasks to minimize downtime and disruption to operations.
- Liaise with the Hire Controller and other team members to coordinate equipment availability and maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and customers on the safe operation and maintenance of plant machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, at all times.

Requirements:


- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role, with a strong background in maintaining and repairing plant machinery and equipment.
- Relevant mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic qualifications or certifications are preferred.
- Knowledge of construction equipment and machinery, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime and Saturdays as required.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
