Info about what the role entails

The EFS team collaborates with the sales teams, channel partners, and customers to define and quote complex fixed and sample systems tailored to meet specific application needs. Upon receiving an order, the EFS team designs the system, sources, and procures specialist components, and creates manufacturing drawing packs for production. The EFS Project Engineer is responsible for designing and managing bespoke systems from the initial quotation and sales order entry through to production, testing, and dispatch.

This role involves creating electrical and mechanical designs for bespoke systems using our control systems and non-standard enclosures. Responsibilities include compiling quotations for EFS systems, participating in pre-sale customer consultations, assisting with the development of information solutions, creating system configurations, producing Bills of Materials, coordinating with the Production team for assembly and testing, and delivering Operation and Maintenance Manuals and customer documentation packages.


 Essential Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

  • A degree qualification (or a minimum of HNC) in engineering, electronics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and/or instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to interface with customers and internal stakeholders confidently and directly.
  • Strong commercial acumen and good cost estimation skills as an engineer.


Desirable requirements of the Field Service Engineer

  • PLC programming experience.
