Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery and contract management of project contracts, with a heavy focus on Contract Management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take overarching responsibility for your category of spend, through marketplace analysis, defining and implementing Category Management strategies, supplier development programmes, supplier relationship management and contract management activities

What you'll do:

As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the commercial delivery and contract management of project contracts. Your primary focus will be on Contract Management where you will have overarching responsibility for your category of spend. You will define and implement Category Management strategies, supplier development programmes, supplier relationship management and contract management activities. You will set and monitor critical success factors, manage key performance indicators (including quality, cost, productivity and HSE), monitor and cost reporting. You will ensure that the contracts are as efficient and effective as possible while offering value for money for the Programme. You will also manage all commercial matters associated with Projects.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will provide coaching and mentoring to other department members.

  • Define and implement Category Management strategies, supplier development programmes, supplier relationship management and contract management activities.
  • Set and monitor critical success factors, manage key performance indicators (including quality, cost, productivity and HSE), monitor and cost reporting.
  • Ensure that the contracts are as efficient and effective as possible while offering value for money for the Programme.
  • Manage all commercial matters associated with all Projects.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to other department members.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Commercial Manager position brings a wealth of skills and qualifications. You should have a relevant Technical or Business Degree or equivalent experience. Significant and proven experience in a Contract or Category Management role is essential, as well as working towards or having achieved a CIPS Professional Diploma or equivalent. A proven track record in negotiations, stakeholder and supplier relationship management and category management is required. Experience of working with ERP Systems Knowledge is beneficial, particularly if you have SAP knowledge. Finally, you should have proven experience in the responsible Categories in part or full including; EPCM, iCheme, Project Delivery.

  • Relevant Technical or Business Degree or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Significant and proven experience in a Contract or Category Management role.
  • Working towards or has achieved CIPS Professional Diploma (L6) or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in negotiations, stakeholder and supplier relationship management and category management.
  • Proven experience of working with ERP Systems Knowledge; it is advantageous if you have SAP knowledge.
  • Proven experience in the responsible Categories in part or full including; EPCM, iCheme, Project Delivery.
