Adecco are recruiting on behalf of our incredibly successful client in the manufacturing industry. We are looking for an experienced Logistics and Warehouse Manager to join an already well-established team and support with the expansion and development of a new UK Warehouse.

This is a full-time permanent office based role.

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday (8:30am - 5:00pm), Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Salary: £40,000 per annum - depending on candidate experience

You will be instrumental in the setting up and building of this Warehouse so it is important you are willing to travel once a month to Birmingham but are local to Warrington where you will be based Monday-Friday.

Purpose of the role:

You will direct and coordinate purchasing, warehousing, and distribution activities to limit costs and improve customer service. You will examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet customer needs. You will build relationships between Customer Service and the Client, Transport, Customs, and coordination with their logistics provider discussing quality, costs and deadlines.

Daily Duties Include:

  • Maintain an overview of the Logistics KPI's - Wholesale and Retail.
  • Guarantee that the logistics provider and transport deliver on time with the requested quality.
  • Manage quality monitoring meetings with the logistics provider, transport, and customer service.
  • Follow up on improvement action plans both with the logistics provider and with transport to ensure Quality and performance is on time, with regular improvement meetings.
  • Check and compare stock settings.
  • Monitoring and verification of invoices from the logistics and transport provider.
  • When necessary, find solutions to any special transport needs.
  • Identify projects to deliver changes and improvements to the supply chain environment.
  • Develop and continuously improve supply chain strategy and generate efficiencies leading to savings in costs.
  • Work closely with EU Transport Manager for offers and negotiations and support.
  • Optimise the management of Pallets
  • Actively participate in projects that impact local logistics (WH processes, change of carriers, local or sales projects etc.)
  • Manage and implement those new customers requirements or new market needs at a logistical level.
  • Contact with headquarters for logistics issues
  • Plan, develop and manage supply chain budget.
  • Be able to list and explain the factors affecting availability, working capital, and cost, and do supply chain bench marking and best-practice analysis.
  • Develop analytics, systems, data management capabilities, best practices, and inventory control to generate efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Manage 3PL relationship; specifically costs, performance, and efficiency management.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the sales and operations planning process including demand forecasting, on time delivery, safety stock and minimise stock obsolescence risks.
  • Monitor, analyse and implement current trends in the industry.
  • Establish key performance indicators and monitor ongoing performance of 3PL against pre-agreed targets.
  • Managing Operating Working Capital and investment in stocks.
  • Collaboration with SCM Department
  • Implementation of effective complaints management.
  • Ensure your own personal Health & Safety and those of your colleagues whether in the office or when on a customer site.

The Ideal Candidate:

A related University degree and/or an equivalent combination of training and supply chain experience. Mandatory skills, knowledge, work-related experience, and training are essential. Significant and relevant management and leadership experience in progressively responsible positions in a supply chain-based environment is required.
