Metalis Recruitment are currently working with a prestigious manufacturing company who due to expansion are looking for a Production Manager to join the team.
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that operations are running as smoothly and effectively as possible.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met
- Coordinating with a variety of different departments within the business including the sales and design teams to forecast production needs and adjust schedules accordingly
- Leading, mentoring and developing a production team leading to performance targets being hit
- Utilising lean manufacturing principles in order to streamline all operations and improve production flow
- Promoting a safe working environment and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management
- Working closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Negotiating terms with potential suppliers
- Tracking production costs and reporting back ensuring budgets are being stuck to
Shifts & Salary:
- £40,000 per annum
- Monday - Friday
- Permanent, Full time
The Ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the tooling or manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of carbide, HSS, brazed carbide, PCD, and indexable insert tooling production processes.
- Proven experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using production management software and tools
