Learning Support Assistant - Waterlooville - Primary SEN School

Academics are seeking an experienced and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to carry out a full-time, on-going contract in a lovely Primary SEN School in the Waterlooville area of Hampshire, starting ASAP.

You will be required to have experience of working with primary aged children with special educational needs including autism, challenging behaviour and communication difficulties. You will be supporting children in a KS1 class with severe learning difficulties, including children who are non-verbal and need personal care assistance.

Applicants will ideally:

* Have recent experience of supporting in a school setting, ideally within an SEN school* Have a childcare/education related qualification e.g. CACHE3/NVQ3 in Childcare or care* Have experience of working with children with SEN/challenging behaviour* Be able to show good behaviour management skills, whilst remaining calm.* Be available full-time to start ASAP* Ideally be based in the Waterlooville or happy to travel for work.* Be friendly and open to new challenges.* Qualifications such as Makaton, PECS, TeamTeach would be an advantage
