Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated, empathetic, and proactive Tutors and Mentors to support secondary-age pupils (Years 7-10) in Waterlooville who are accessing education through alternative provision.
These young people are on reduced timetables or are currently disengaged from mainstream education. They require 1:1 support from professionals who can build trust, spark engagement, and help them rediscover their potential.
As a Tutor or Mentor, you will:
- Provide individualised academic and emotional support to pupils in Years 7-10.
- Use pupils' interests-such as music, computing, gaming, and more-as a starting point to build rapport and engagement.
- Deliver creative and flexible sessions that promote learning, confidence, and personal growth.
- Work closely with other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people as a TA, 1:1, Cover Supervisor, LSA, Teacher, Tutor, Mentor, Youth Worker or another related field- ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working with learners with SEN/ SEMH needs- ESSENTIAL
- Trauma informed- DESIRABLE
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
