Health and Safety ManagerPermanent, full-time£40,000 to £50,000 (depending on experience)If you are looking for a new opportunity as a Health and Safety Manager for a growing company this could be for you. The site is based in Wednesbury with other sites close by too, you will be responsible for all aspects of health and safety making critical business decisions. Therefore, experience in a standalone H&S Management Position within the manufacturing industry is crucial to excel in this role.Requirements for the Health and Safety Manager:Required:
  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate Level 3 or diploma or equivalent level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of BS ISO 45001: 2018 Management Systems.
  • Full valid driving licence.
  • A good understanding of legal requirements and compliance.
Desirable:
  • Member of IOSH (desirable).
  • First Aid and Mental Health First Aid Trained (desirable).
  • Internal Auditor (desirable).
  • Knowledge of COSHH system requirements (desirable).
Responsibilities of the H&S Manager:
  • To drive and promote the Health and Safety Culture within the Dalair business, this including both sites and site service division.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness in legislation and advise employee and managers accordingly.
  • Actively drive world class manufacturing.
  • Interpret and Implement the Health & Safety Management System to BS ISO 45001: 2018.
  • Ensure documentation is controlled as per the HSE system.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, OH&S Management System and procedures.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are correctly reported and investigated in accordance with company policies and procedure.
  • Responsible for safe systems of work and procedure's during the manufacturing stages, and that all health and safety issues are considered and adhered to.
  • Undertake internal audits and produce reports from findings.
  • Ensure all production and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with compliance and legal requirements.
  • Produce 6 monthly reports for management review of all data and trends analysis.
  • Work with all employees as necessary to achieve key performance indicators and programmes.
  • Support onboarding of new employees and provide them with inductions and orientation of OH&S.
  • Be an organisational representative in it's dealings with external bodies/authorities.
  • Support Site/Service division with the issue of specific documentation and the management of safe systems/procedures whilst carrying out site activities.
