Maintenance Manager

C&N Recruitment are recruiting for a Head of Maintenance for a boutique 4* Hotel based just outside of Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire.

This role will be responsible for overseeing the safety and management of the buildings that include a hotel, restaurant, bar, and lake huts.

Duties:

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and projects of the hotel, Chalets, Restaurants and Conference and Events space.
• Manage a team of 3.
• Manage the task list of daily repairs, delegating as required, but also supporting or participating as required.
• Able to prioritise important jobs and ensure they are completed efficiently by your team or yourself.
• To proactively ensure that any repairs, painting, and other maintenance duties are carried out in a professional manner.
• To ensure that any maintenance and other reasonable requests made by all departments are carried out as soon as it is reasonably possible.
• To act in a professional manner and ensure your team acts in a professional manager around guests.
• Attend and actively participate in Head of Department meetings.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance techniques.

Person specification

• Practical experience & ability in range of maintenance tasks / disciplines - particularly in plumbing and electrics
• Clean and full driving licence
• Trade qualification is a must.
• Fit to work outside in all weathers.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team.
• Understanding of the importance of Health & Safety within the workplace.
• JCB Licence an advantage.
• Experience of using grounds machinery
• 2 years experience as a maintenance manager or head of maintenance in a hotel setting.

Due to rural location, it is advisable that you have your own transport and that the hotel is open 7 days a week therefore hours of work will include weekends.
