I currently have a really Important & Interesting role for Welwyn Council Which will help to combat Homelessness... because let's help get people off the streets and to give them a better Life!!

Role: Housing options officer
Rate: 16-25/hr
Hours: 37.5 per week
Temp contract

Hybrid ( 1-2 per week at welwyn garden city office )

Role:

  • To provide advice, help and support and find suitable solutions to help prevent or delay homelessness and to provide customers with practical options and suitable housing solutions.
  • To agree Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) with people who are threatened with homelessness
  • or homeless under the terms of the Homeless Reduction Act
  • Investigate and issue decisions on applications made under current homelessness legislation
  • Make referrals to appropriate Temporary Accommodation, supported accommodation or longer
  • term housing solution and/or support where necessary

5 key requirements that we are looking at from the role profile are:

  • Experience in dealing with the public on a front-line service
  • Experience in assessing homelessness applications and making decisions on them
  • Experience and Knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act and relevant duties
  • Experience working with the Locata Homelessness Case management system (HPA2)
  • High level IT skills and ability to write complex and detailed letters and emails
