Early Help IDVA ?? Role: Early Help Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)?? Location: Co-located across Brent – Early Help Hubs, Brent Early Help Team, Client Head Office (Hybrid – up to 2 days WFH)?? Hours: 35 hours per week?? Pay: £19+ p/h ltd?? Contract: 3-month fixed term, with potential to extend on a rolling basis?? Experience Level: Very experienced – direct work with survivors (adults and/or children), strong safeguarding knowledge, confident in managing crisis and understanding DA impact on children and parent-child relationships?? About the Organisation:Our client is an award-winning, women-only charity that supports women and girls who’ve experienced domestic abuse or are involved in the criminal justice system. Established in 1998, they empower women to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives. The organisation is known for its community-based approach and strong partnerships with local agencies.?? The Role:As the Early Help IDVA, you'll be embedded within Brent’s Early Help services, working alongside practitioners to improve domestic abuse responses across the borough. You'll provide joint casework support, raise awareness, and ensure women and children get the right help at the right time.You’ll need to be calm under pressure, skilled in handling sensitive information, and confident in managing risk. Your safeguarding expertise and ability to navigate social care systems will be key to success.?? About You:To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A deep understanding of domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual violence, coercive control, so-called ‘honour-based’ violence, stalking, and forced marriage
  • Experience supporting survivors involved with Children’s Social Services or Early Help teams
  • Expertise in safeguarding, risk assessment, and crisis management
  • Proven partnership working with social care and other multi-agency professionals
  • Excellent advocacy and support planning skills
  • A trauma-informed, woman-centred approach
