We are a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Kensal Green, committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Our team works collaboratively to support students with a range of learning, communication, and behavioural needs.

Job Purpose:
The SEN Teaching Assistant will support teaching staff in delivering high-quality education and care for students with special educational needs. You will assist with classroom activities, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help implement personalised learning plans to meet individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning, communication, and behavioural needs in line with their individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting resources to meet diverse needs.

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development.

  • Monitor and record student progress and share observations with teaching staff.

  • Support students with personal care, as required.

  • Assist with preparing classroom resources and maintaining a safe, organised learning environment.

  • Participate in team meetings, training, and school activities as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of SEND strategies and educational support techniques.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, CACHE, or equivalent) are advantageous.
