Environmental Quality Officer (Air Quality) - Local Authority
Location: W8 6PW, Hybrid working
Start date: ASAP
Contract duration: 3+ months
Working hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 36 hours p/w
Pay rate: 22.36 p/h PAYE
As the Environmental Quality Officer (Air Quality), your duties will include:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of air, water and land pollution to uphold competencies, skills and awareness of current best practice.
- Work across all aspects of the team's work in relation to monitoring and improving air quality and assist with overseeing implementation of the Council's Air Quality Action Plan.
- Deal with the review of planning applications, processing of applications (for example for Part B processes), notifications, Environmental Permits, referrals, consultations or schemes, carry out reviews and give approval, as directed using any powers that have been delegated in line with the grade and
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Experience of reviewing planning applications for potential impact on land quality.
- Knowledge of Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act.
- Relevant degree e.g. Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, etc.
- Understanding of conceptual site models, risk assessments and intrusive site investigations and remediation.
