Maintenance Engineer

Weston Super Mare, North Somerset

Full Time, Permanent

Monday to Friday 4.5 day working week (37 hours)

£35,000- £42,000 + Benefits



My client, a reputable and longstanding mechanical manufacturing business, is looking for an experienced, mechanically biased engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. The business continues to excel and they have recently strengthened their client portfolio.



Working as part of the shift engineering team, your primary objective will be to ensure the efficient running of all production and process machinery on site, this includes:

  • Reactive maintenance- attending to breakdowns, fault finding and repairing on a range of production/process machinery.
  • Planned maintenance- starting up of machinery, servicing, replacing of components periodically.
  • Project work- upgrades, modifications and supporting installation of new machinery.
  • Providing technical support and assignment to the production operations team.
  • Driving improvement across the facility.
  • Setting standards for engineering excellence.
  • Facilities and building maintenance.

To be successful in this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous hands on experience working as a maintenance engineer, maintenance technician, shift engineer or similar.
  • Previous hands on experience working in a manufacturing facility on production/process machinery.
  • Multi skilled with a bias towards mechanical engineering.
  • A working understanding of production facilities and the importance of machinery uptime.
