Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our projects, from initial cost estimates to final account settlements. Working closely with our project teams, the Quantity Surveyor will ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for structural steelwork, architectural steelwork, site erections, installations, and steelwork design services.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimise project costs and maximise profitability.
  • Procure subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain budgetary control.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to resolve any commercial issues or disputes that may arise during the project.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact project costs or schedules.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on structural steelwork and architectural steelwork projects.
  • Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial management principles.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately estimate and assess project costs.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
  • Relevant professional certifications or memberships (e.g., RICS, CIOB) preferred but not required.
