If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Long Term Supply Learning Support Assistant at our SEN School in Wheatley, Oxfordshire.

We cater to students with a range of severe, complex, or profound learning difficulties, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive. Role and Responsibilities: As a Long Term Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting students with their daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and communication.
  • Supporting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and implementing individual education plans.
  • Creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and encourages independence.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic development of each student.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and reporting observations to the relevant staff members.
  • Establishing positive relationships with students, their families, and the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with severe, complex, or profound learning difficulties is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the willingness to assist with various tasks as required.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
