My client in Maidenhead is currently in need of an Integration Trials Engineer due to expansion.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

They are currently seeking a talented, flexible, and passionate engineer, this role requires a diverse range of engineering skills, from understanding comms, software, control systems, electrical and mechanical hardware. A successful candidate must embrace the challenge of producing outstanding results on his/her own without the need for constant supervision, in an un-structured environment - as some integration efforts are new to the team and/or customer driven.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

REQUIRED:

  • Engineering bachelor’s with several years of engineering experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience integrating hardware systems, using comms protocols such as Serial, I2C, CAN etc, and integrating hardware such as radios, sensors, actuators etc
  • Proven experience with C/C++, Python and other languages desirable· Goal focused engineering· Experience with low bandwidth communications (PWM, Serial, IC2 etc) – desirable if candidate is familiar with common protocols and hardware

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience with CAD software
  • Experience with robotics or unmanned aerial systems
  • Experience in/or the ability to supervise and mentor colleagues to deliver to schedules
  • Willingness to travel within UK and overseas if required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading projects related to integration of hardware and software on R&D vehicles
  • Acting as main point of contact for all technical issues relating to integrated hardware for design development, and manufacture for the UAV
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative ideas to address technical challenges and work with the project or team leads to quickly design and manufacture vehicle structures, actuators, jigs, tooling, and one-off R&D projects through your experience with KISS design and integration
  • Analysis of simulation data and real-world testing to evaluate and refine system performance
  • Mechanical and software design, development and build for manufacture
  • Liaise with other engineers to resolve production and design issues
  • Design of test procedures to ensure systems meet the current standardsInterface with and manage customer expectations throughout the development process
  • Responsible for controlling personal workload and identifying any further resource need
