Westlake's Recruit are currently recruiting for an Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to be engaged on a permanent basis in Cumbria.
The Role:
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer, you will be aligned to the pre-Operations delivery team where you will identify and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy through multiple project phases.
You will collaborate with an internal multidisciplined project delivery team and interface with external stakeholders/vendors. You will utilise your experience in your specific engineering discipline to build an operable and maintainability facility to fulfil requirements of the expected operational life.
Responsibilities:
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, you will:
- Undertake inputting of Operations & Maintenance learning from experience and best practise into all aspects of project delivery processes including design phases (Design, HAZOP, Risk, Contract, Schedule, and Estimate), works testing phases, onsite testing (STW) and handover.
- Undertake Pre-Operations (Engineering & Maintenance) allocated maintenance work-scope in accordance with the required management system in preparation for compliance with nuclear site licence conditions.
- Support a proactive and balanced approach to safety (nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental) to ensure that safety is optimised during project delivery and for operations.
- Interface with internal/external stakeholders and interface with manufacturing vendors, design, and commissioning throughout the differing project phases.
- Hold Suitably Qualified & Experienced Persons appointments or training to ensure that the project delivery targets can be achieved.
- Act as Technical Author (produces reviews and revises pre-operations documentation, tracking & scheduling tools). Report project delivery progress to the Pre-Operations Manager and where required Maintenance and Engineering Leads.
Essentials:
- Recognised Electrical & Instrumentation engineering apprenticeship.
- ONC/Level 3 qualification in relevant discipline and able to present qualification certification.
- Willing and able to travel on extended stays to various locations other than Sellafield Site in West Cumbria, the wider UK and, on occasion, overseas to meet demands of the Project delivery.
- Computer literate (MS applications including Word, Excel) with evidence of producing commissioning test documentation and reports.
Desirables:
- HNC/Level 4 qualification in relevant discipline and able to present qualification certification.
- Have nuclear sector experience, including working within large scale projects.
- Experience in setting to work of new systems
