Role Overview:
- Our client is seeking a highly skilled substation welder to assist on a project aimed at enhancing the stability of the National Grid infrastructure.
- The Welder will be responsible for welding and fabricating aluminium components for the substation enclosure, as well as performing exothermic welding for earthing connections.
- This role requires proficiency in both MIG welding for aluminium and aluminothermic (exothermic) welding techniques for grounding and earthing.
- The Welder will work closely with other construction and engineering team members to ensure the successful installation of the synchronous condensers, as well as disconnectors, switchgears, transformers, busbars.
- Perform MIG welding on aluminium components for the substation enclosure.
- Conduct aluminothermic welding for earthing and grounding connections.
- Ensure all welding work meets industry standards and project specifications.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Valid welding certificate for aluminium welding (MIG).
- Certifications or qualifications in aluminothermic welding techniques for earthing connections.
- Proven experience in both aluminium and exothermic welding, particularly in a construction or industrial setting.
- Experience in welding for electrical substations or similar infrastructure projects.
- Additional safety certifications.
