We are currently supporting a large two-form entry primary school in Widnes to recruit an experienced KS1 teaching assistant for a long-term role in this year. The school requires a motivated and reliable Teaching Assistant to cover Key Stage 1. This is a full-time contract lasting until the end of the academic year. The role is term time only, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pmYour new roleIn your role as a Year 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will be working under the instruction of class teachers to promote an inclusive and accessible learning environment and use your initiative to effectively manage the classroom and behaviours. You will utilise all the learning equipment available and identify when students may be struggling with work and offer intervention and booster sessions in core subjects as required on a 1:1 and group basis. You will also support pupils with SEN (ADHD, dyslexia, and ADD). Other duties will include phonics and read write inc. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful with your application you will need

  • Experience working with Children in the last 2 years
  • Experience of working with children or adults with special educational needs
  • To feel confident working one to one.
  • To be professional at all times, as well as friendly and enthusiastic.
  • To be able to communicate effectively with staff, children and parents.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to acquire one through Hays
