SUNDAY - THURSDAY: 22.00 - 06.30

People Solutions are delighted to present an opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join our client, a leading distribution company, based in Gorsey Point.

Day to Day Duties

  • The purpose of this role is to lead and motivate the transport team, providing excellent communication, training and development.
  • In addition to coordinating and supervising the team, you will be responsible for compliance, managing costs and developing relationships across the entire team
  • Directing reports, driving teams, customer service and all levels of management
  • Ensure full compliance within the transport function, insuring that all relevant legislative and corporate requirements are met
  • Experience of operating with out-based operations
  • Ensure all KPIs are adhered to
  • Ensure all requirements meet OTIF
  • Ensure that the team contribute effectively to the service levels agreed
  • Ensure that returns are maximised
  • Ensure that routes are planned effectively and costs are optimised
  • Encourage open communication across the team operations
  • Continuously improve processes in order to manage effectively

Essential Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of transport legislation, Working Time Directive and driver's hours
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Experienced People Manager
  • Able to carry out disciplinary and grievance issues in line with HR policies

Desirable Experience

  • Computer Literacy and MS Office skills
  • International CPC
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Training

Training will be provided 'on the job' starting on day one.
