We currently have a fantastic Locum Advanced Practitioner-Qualified Social Worker opportunity based within a fast paced Fostering Team in the Wigan area.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be supporting a small caseload of more complex foster carers, children and young people
  • Deputising for Team Manager in absence or leave
  • Managing and developing support workers and social workers within the team
  • Providing fostering families with support guidance and advice
  • Completing annual reviews and all associated paperwork within timescale
  • Duty rota, being included within the management duty rota - office based, one week at a time.
  • Office working day Thursdays for all staff (further office days as required to complete role)

To be considered for the role:

  • BSc Social Work or equivalent
  • Hold a current Social Work England registration
  • Experience in managing support workers and or social workers
  • Experience of working within a busy and fast paced fostering team
  • Possess good working knowledge of quality assurance, relevant legislation, policies and procedures in relation to fostering and safeguarding
