Our Client, Wigan Council, is seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join their Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Your role will be to assess, supervise and support Friends and Family Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians to a high standard, to support children remaining within friends and family networks where safe and possible if they are unable to remain with their parents.
  • Prioritising safeguarding and placement stability whilst ensuring practice is regulatory compliant and improving experiences and outcomes for children and young people.
  • You will be a team player and innovative problem solver, able to work using initiative and have strong interpersonal skills to not only engage carers, but to build robust relationships with colleagues.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 2 years’ post qualified experience.
