Your new companyWe are recruiting a project officer to work within a supported housing project for young people aged 16-25 years based in Wigan.Your new roleThis is a full-time role based on site covering on a rota basis Monday-Friday, working either 8-4pm or 12 - 8pm. As a project officer, you will provide key worker support for young people through advocacy, 1-2-1 support and in group work settings to include life skills and independent living skills. As part of this role, you will interview new applicants, produce support plans and write risk assessments. You will also be expected to provide scheme cover on a rota basis, maintaining the safety and security of the scheme.What you'll need to succeedIt is essential that you have knowledge of safeguarding young people, and you must hold GCSE grade c or above or the equivalent in English and Maths. You will have tenacity and resilience, and be innovative and creative in your way of working. You will be able to relate with people from all backgrounds and will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and ideally, you will have previously worked with young people and will have knowledge of social housing.
