As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring all compliance work is completed within the business target dates.
  • Overseeing a small team that completes small accounting duties
  • Reviewing and filing year-end accounts, tax returns, and capital gains tax computations.
  • Assisting with the implementation of R&D Tax claims into the accounts and tax returns of limited companies.
  • Providing support on payroll services for the wider client base.
  • Preparing and reviewing periodic management accounts and information.
  • Advising on the improvement of profitability and business efficiency through continuous monitoring and implementing effective business controls.
  • Assisting with the training and development of less experienced team members.
  • Build relationships with new clients and upsell other services.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role should have:
  • At least 5 years' experience of working in a practice.
  • Be AAT or ACCA qualified or part-qualified
  • Experience using TaxCalc, Xero software and various cloud-based accounting software preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Engange in conversation proactively.
  • A proactive approach to introducing new clients to the company and promoting its services.
  • Full driving license
