Safeguarding Officer

Location: Wimborne

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum

Hours: 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year (Including all academic term time)

Commencing in August 2024, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safeguarding Officer to support the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead with the promotion of safeguarding across the campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all members of the school community.

The Role

Working as part of a small team, the postholder will carry out pastoral casework with pupils and staff whilst ensuring that all staff receive appropriate training on a regular basis.

A professional and flexible approach to work is essential as are excellent administrative skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.

Skills and Experience

With a passion for ensuring the wellbeing of young people, candidates should be approachable, friendly and able to demonstrate effective listening skills and a caring manner.

A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and associated legislation is also essential, with a proven background of working in the social care and education sectors being advantageous.
