Job Description: As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students of varying ages and abilities. You will be responsible for creating an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that encourages students to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and fosters a love for the subject.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
  • Utilize innovative teaching strategies and resources to make Maths accessible and engaging for all students.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and fosters a growth mindset.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs, adapting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design cross-curricular activities and promote interdisciplinary learning.
  • Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress.
  • Stay abreast of educational developments and implement best practices in Maths instruction.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and participate in the school community.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Maths to students of varying ages and abilities.
  • A thorough understanding of the Maths curriculum and the ability to plan engaging lessons.
  • Be a qualified teacher to UK standard (QTS).
  • Be passionate about educating 11-18 year olds.
  • Have or be able to apply for a DBS.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for Maths and a commitment to fostering a positive attitude towards the subject.
  • Enthusiasm for professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school's educational initiatives.
