Achieving for Children has an exciting opportunity for a social worker to join their IFA. As a Social Worker within our Independent Fostering Agency, you will collaborate with colleagues to deliver a comprehensive range of fostering services. This includes recruitment, assessment, training, supervision/support, duty services, and special guardianship assessments. You will play a vital role in safely placing children and striving to achieve permanency plans for them. This position offers the potential for permanency as our fostering services continue to grow. There is scope for this position to be extended as the IFA grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in recruitment, assessment, and training of foster carers.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to foster carers.
  • Conduct duty services, including responding to inquiries and emergencies.
  • Complete form C assessments and special guardianship assessments.
  • Work towards achieving permanency plans for children in care.
  • Embrace the Signs of Safety framework and contribute to signs of success.
  • Engage in peer group supervision sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of foster carer training and support groups.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in fostering services.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations governing fostering.
  • Ability to assess and manage risks effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous professional development.
