We are currently looking to appoint an Extrusion Operator for our Winsford site. The purpose of the role is to ensure dedicated machines run with minimal scrap and downtime while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

  • Maintain High Health and Safety standards at all time. This will include wearing appropriate PPE for the tasks being carried out.
  • Plan workload in advance with other team members to ensure sufficient materials are available for current and future manufacturing orders
  • Check Correct materials and blending system is correctly set up in accordance with job card specifications
  • Perform running adjustments on the machines in order to Maintain optimum output and reduce scrap levels
  • Diagnose process issues and take corrective action
  • Input production / Quality data onto production records
  • Ensure full Compliance to all relevant Quality Procedures
  • Identify faults and carry out basic maintenance activities.
  • Maintain High Housekeeping standards
  • Report all Quality, H&S , Production and Maintenance issues to the supervisor
  • Pack products as per Job Card specifications
  • Move finished goods accordingly.

Qualifications

Experience of working within a manufacturing environment

Experience of H&S issues within a manufacturing environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to work unsupervised and be able to use own initiative


Desirable:

Experience of recycling or the plastics industry

Some mechanical knowledge of plastics processing machinery


Hours average 42 per week. Every other weekend off. Shifts 6am-pm/6pm-6am
