Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant
Location: Oxfordshire area
Salary: 27,000-35,000 (DOE) + benefits & profit share
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

A forward-thinking, employee-owned environmental consultancy is looking for an enthusiastic early-career Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality specialist to support its expanding operations. The company delivers expertise in air quality and dust monitoring, technical advisory services, equipment development and laboratory-based analysis.

As an Employee-Owned organisation, collaboration, scientific integrity and transparent working practices sit at the heart of how the business operates. All employees share in company performance through a profit-sharing structure.



Role Overview

This varied role will involve:

  • Carrying out occupational exposure evaluations for dusts, fibres, VOCs, gases, and a wide range of workplace substances.

  • Producing clear, accurate and insightful written reports.

  • Assisting with noise exposure surveys and LEV assessments (full training provided).

  • Handling client enquiries, preparing quotes and supporting wider business development activity.

Although based mainly in the office, the position includes frequent travel to client sites across the UK, with hybrid working available following full training.



What We're Looking For

Essential

  • At least 1 year of experience in occupational or industrial hygiene, including airborne contaminant and noise monitoring.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce technical reports.

  • Solid skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Confidence working with and interpreting large data sets.

  • Understanding of COSHH, EH40 and relevant MDHS guidance.

  • Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Membership with BOHS.

  • Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science or a related discipline.

  • Awareness of indoor air quality standards (e.g., BREEAM).

  • Experience in LEV testing or supporting commercial enquiry processes.

  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to work independently.

  • Flexibility to travel and undertake occasional overnight stays.
