Assistant Finance and Logistics Manager

Our client is looking for an Assistant Finance and Logistics Manager to work effectively and seamlessly across both areas and support the busy teams who have a growing workload!

You will have responsibility for various important tasks within the Company and will work closely with the 'C’ Chief level managers on a day-to-day basis as well as supporting other team members, allowing them to focus on other priorities.

You will have the opportunity to help build and influence the business during its continued growth and you can very much make the role your own!

Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Raising PO's and gaining approval
  • Posting invoices and converting PO's to invoices
  • Checking deliveries in against invoices to confirm goods received and approving invoices to be paid
  • Assessing incoming items for (general consumables/tools or stock to make a product)
  • Monitoring where finished goods items are located/sent and keep track of returned goods going back into stock
  • Acting as a link between procurement/logistics and finance, being aware of the financial impact and improving processes
  • Going through finance reports to check allocation of invoiced items is correct and coded appropriately
  • Posting expenses for operations staff and allocating rechargeable costs to clients
  • Ad hoc assistance with other aspects of finance
  • Assist operations/logistics by arranging and tracking freight with company’s agent, and by arranging travel for operations team members
  • Checking specifications, preparing shipment confirmations and raising invoices
  • Liaising with shipping agents to ensure correct Bills of Lading and other shipping documentation
  • Monitoring contracts & shipment arrivals to ensure shipping documentation arrives on time
  • Ensuring GDPR rules are adhered to in relation to documentation and customer records.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role within a small business environment.
  • Proficient in computer use, standard Office Suite and Xero
  • Good at prioritising tasks, ability to multitask.

It is envisaged that you will have experience in dealing with financial transactions in an environment where accuracy & attention to detail is paramount. Knowledge of international shipping / import & export documentation would be a distinct advantage.
