Cranleigh STEM is working with a medical device and diagnostics manufacturer with a global reach. We are looking for a driven production manager to join our client's team on a permanent basis at their site in Berkshire.

As a production manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations, particularly assembly, auto assembly, glass printing and maintenance. All the while adhering to SOPs, policies and QMS.

To be considered for this opportunity you should possess experience working in a similar medical device, diagnostic, or other hi-tech manufacturing environment. Have a track record of developing and implementing bespoke automation solutions whilst in a management or leadership role.

Salary: 50,000 - 70,000

Key areas of responsibility:

Production Management | Team Leadership | Resource Planning | Quality Assurance | Process Optimisation | Supplier Management | Health and Safety | Budget Management

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the manufacturing processes, systems, procedures, and resources to achieve the business objectives and growth plan.
  • To ensure that the departments can supply high-quality finished products as per orders and forecasts.
  • Work alongside the R&D department to offer support in relation to new products and developments.
  • Identify and provide help, support, and training to manufacturing team members.
  • Assist in departmental budgeting.
  • Formulate strategic objectives and spearhead projects.
  • Generate, communicate, and manage the production schedules.
  • Prepare, monitor and report KPIs for the manufacturing department ensuring that these align with company goals, values, and vision.
  • Drive continuous improvement in relation to all department practices, with a firm focus on efficiency.
  • Manage and ensure efficient use of resources, materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor and report production performance and take necessary action if issues arise.
  • Analyse data using MES, ERP, CMMS and SPC systems and ensure that targets are met.

Skills, experience, and requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a hi-tech and dynamic factory environment.
  • Experience using, developing and implementing bespoke automation solutions.
  • Management experience across a range of employees with varying skills sets within a factory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders by making sound and confident recommendations and decisions.
  • Familiar with management software systems such as MES, ERP, SPC, and CMMS.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally ISO:13485.
