Senior Programme Planner

Our client, a leading organisation in the utilities sector, is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Programme Planner to join their dynamic team! This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Regional Energy System Planning (RESP) Programme, a high-visibility initiative that promises to challenge and inspire.

Role Overview:As a Senior Programme Planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting a complex portfolio that is already in-flight. You'll collaborate closely with Project Managers, Programme Leads, PMOs, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to refine, merge, and manage project plans, all while navigating a landscape of challenging timescales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, integrate, and manage project and programme plans for the RESP Programme, which encompasses 10 individual workstreams.
  • utilise your strong technical skills in Microsoft Project to create and maintain detailed project plans, critical path analysis, and resource management.
  • Establish and control project plans with input from SMEs, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Conduct effective planning sessions with workstreams and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and engagement.
  • Create visual reports to communicate timelines, risks, and milestones to key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on planning approaches and tools, tailoring them to project requirements.
  • Review project progress data, including schedules and costs, to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support other PMO tasks and confidently lead workshops when necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong understanding of key project planning principles, including Scheduling, Risk Analysis, and Baseline Management.
  • Proven experience in managing complex programme plans using various planning tools (Microsoft Project, POL, etc.).
  • Ability to articulate and validate processes and plans effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels.
  • A proactive approach to identifying project capacity and capability needs.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting demands while maintaining accuracy.
