Your new companyHays are working exclusively with a successful company in the Wolverhampton area who are looking for an assistant accountant to provide support in the UK finance department. Your new roleThe duties of your new role will include:
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, VAT returns, and invoices.
- Skilled in preparing and maintaining accurate account documents
- Familiarity with finance regulations
- Experience with MS Excel and accounting software. Intermediate/advanced level working with complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties and other various tasks
- Forecasting and budgeting
- Carry out bank reconciliation on a daily and monthly basis.
- Assist in the processing of payments on requests and monthly supplier payment runs.
- Assist in the preparation to present monthly accounting reports to management and head office.
- Ensure accruals and prepayment concepts are applied to processed transactions.
- Understanding of landed costs
- Reporting for Sales departments
- With holiday cover for credit control
What you'll need to succeed
- Good qualifications in accounting field.
- Some knowledge of sap and other ERP systems.
- Processing in multi-currency
- Experience with the following beneficial:
- SAP Business One (or ability to adapt to new software)
- Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central
- Sage Payroll Software
