Lead Azure DevOps EngineerOur most trusted partner, a leading financial services provider is currently hiring an Lead Azure DevOps Engineer who has strong experience in Azure/CI/CD as our client moves their legacy IT estate into the cloud. This is an exciting/challenging position where the chosen candidate will be the SME ensuring efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our client's operations whilst providing mentoring/leadership to junior members within the DevOps practice. Our client is looking to pay a basic salary between £65,000 to £75,000 + 15% bonus with a phenomenal benefits package to be based in Chatham or Wolverhampton 3 x PW.To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in Azure DevOps methodologies with the ability to implement CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with the data engineering team.Core responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for data projects, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop appropriate DevOps solutions.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior team members on DevOps practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline development workflows.
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure the reliability and availability of data pipelines and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and ensure timely resolution of technical challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and data engineering.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability of data infrastructure and pipelines.
Key technical skill-set:
  • Proven leadership capabilities in regards to project implementation coupled with the ability to mentor/coach/train junior team members is a must have.
  • Recent experience in hands-on delivery of DevOps, Engineering, Solution Design, and Cloud Architecture is essential
  • Strong capabilities in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience and knowledge are essential
  • Significant experience in Creating, managing, and interacting with GIT repositories is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure Active Directory, App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, and Azure Virtual Machines are essential
  • Relevant qualification in Azure is a must-have
  • Minimum of 3 years within a DevOps SME position.
  • Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is desirable
