PRU TEACHING ASSISTANT - WOLVERHAMPTON

Academics Ltd are currently looking for Teaching Assistants who are looking to support students in a PRU setting. The school is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that offers a full-time provision for students in Key Stage 3 and 4 who require Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) support. You will be patient, caring and have the ability to deal with/manage challenging behaviour. Students making progression academically and with their SEMH will be your priority therefore there is a lot of understanding required for this role. This is a fantastic school that endeavours to improve the life changes of every young person who enters the centre. Providing a holistic approach to teaching and learning and celebrating success. Unlike mainstream schools, all pupils have a personalised learning and a meaningful intervention/plan. Students have access to a range of academic and learning vocational qualifications. The centre is supported by specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants, their own Integrated Therapy Service, and other agencies.

You must have;

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher/equivalent)
  • Experience of working within a school setting/similar
  • Experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour
  • Experience of supporting SEN students
