We are currently seeking an operations Manager to complete works across the West Midlands. This is a full time. Permanent role in which our client is seeking an operations manager to work oversee operations and contracts of their Grounds Maintenance and Ministry of Defence Sectors within the operational Remit of West Midlands.


Responsibilities and Duties of an Operations Manager
  • To be responsible for all contracts within the operational remit and liaising with the Operations Director.
  • Taking full profit and loss responsibility for all contracts and activities.
  • Effectively manage and be responsible for budgets
  • focusing on achievement of financial targets
  • Leading and supporting the development of maintenance business across a number of contracts and locations.
  • Produce Direct reports that focus on complying with the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Liaise with the Business Development teams in the preparation of tender for prospective clients.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and direction.
  • Set targets for, appraise, develop, and review immediate reports and ensure this occurs for all personnel in the area.
  • Liaise with Contract Manager, ensuring that areas performance is reported on a timely and accurate basis
  • Oversea full operations of the MOD contracts and act as the key figure for senior officers
  • Responsible for managing the execution and delivery of the works programme.

Skills and Qualifications Required for Operations Manager
  • Highly experienced operational manager with track record of successfully managing multiple clients.
  • Experience of managing operations across an area of around £1million sales per annum.
  • Specific proven track record of successful contract turns around and of growing a contract.
  • Business development skills with experience of strategic tendering
  • First class motivational and management skills
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with demonstrable experience of managing a challenging high-profile client.
  • High level of numeracy and financial knowledge and skill
  • Significant IT skills (Excel – spreadsheets, Word and Works programmes etc.) 
  • A proactive individual capable of driving performance in the region · Self-motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and innovation
  • Full UK Driving Licence
