Fire Safety Consultant Job in Wolverhampton, West Midlands

Fire Safety Consultant job in Wolverhampton, West Midlands for a growing fire team, joining an established engineering and design consultancy. The role will be reporting to the Head of Fire Engineering providing passive fire protection inspections and assessments, certification and interpretation of test reports and FRAEW/EWS1 reports. Offering a salary of up to 75,000 (negotiable) + Hybrid/Remote Working.

They are an award-winning consultancy based across 3 offices in the UK, providing design and engineering services across fire engineering, faade engineering, M&E and sustainability. They are now looking to grow their fire engineering team led by a highly experienced Head of Fire Engineering, the role will be working on residential and commercial projects in the UK.

Role & Responsibilities

- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects

- Be commercially and risk aware across all stages of a project

- Take ownership of personal performance and commitment to project completion and success

- Attend site for inspection of fire measures for both new build and existing premises

- Regular UK travel with potential for overnight stays

- Responsible time management and contributing to workload programming and fee proposals

- Carry out duties within the principles of Health & Safety for site-based work and in accordance with Risk Assessment Method Statements

- Write accurate site inspection records and assist in making remedial measure recommendations

- Contribute to CPD and be willing to share knowledge across the company.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 5 years practical experience of site-based inspection work for fire safety compliance, including external wall compliance and fire safety guidance

- Industry qualification in Building Studies, Risk Assessment or similar subject (BTEC HNC/HND)

- Professional Membership with surveying, construction, engineering or fire safety association / professional body desirable

- Excellent report writing

- CSCS card holder preferred

- Full UK driving licence.
