We’re currently looking for enthusiastic Substance Abuse Advisor who is focused on supporting & nurturing the individuals. The role will deal with  Substance Misuse your primary role will be to provide information on all aspects of substance misuse to the public via telephone helpline - promoting key messages on harm reduction and behaviour change support.Cactus Search are currently in partnership with an amazing client who are offering you the following role with a great opportunity to support & help people.Dayshift Advisers: Working on a 5-week rolling rota covering the hours of 8am – 10pm Monday – Sunday.Nightshift Advisers: Working 10pm – 8am Monday – Sunday on a rotation of 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off. (with additional unsociable hours payment)Who are we looking for?
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a confident telephone manner with the ability to engage and build rapport quickly with people to assess their needs in a timely manner
  • Ability to handle extremly sensitive calls/contacts to the service with empathy, professionalism, and a non-judgemental approach
  • Youre required to adhere to the defined remit and work to service and professional boundaries
  • Assess the customers set of circumstances to each case assigned and be as fair as possible.
  • Liaise with the customers, keeping them calm and help with their situation
Required:
  • Experience in support of substance abuse previously would be essential.
  • We are looking for strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Education - Psychology, Health Science, Social Sciences, Health Promotion, Education or Counselling diploma
  • A relevant post graduate higher qualification e.g., a MSc in Counselling, Health Education/ Promotion, Public Health
  • Qualification in drugs, alcohol, or tobacco studies/smoking cessation.
