Job Title: Principal Software Engineer

Principal Software Engineer required by an advanced magnetic sensing technology business based in the west midlands. The Principal Software Engineer will be a key leader within a growing product development team, responsible for both leading a small and growing team as well as hands on requirements.
This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for developing cutting edge technological products. The Principal Software Engineer will play a vital role in driving innovation, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions, and shaping the future of our products.
Role Requirements
路Provide hands on technical leadership and guidance to both embedded and non-embedded software engineers. Leading the development of complex software systems.
路Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
路Contribute to project management by providing software design plans and progress reports.
路Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and implement mitigation strategies.
路Drive implementation, testing, and deployment of software solutions aligned with project goals.
路Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, readability, and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
路Proven experience (7+ years) in software development, ideally with expertise in both embedded and non-embedded systems.
路Experience with programming languages commonly used in embedded and non-embedded software development (Python, C/C++, Java)
路Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux development.
路Proven experience of commercial product development.
路In-depth knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
