POSITION: Asbestos Contracts Manager

LOCATION: Workington

SALARY: £40,000 - £60,000

JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for the operational management of asbestos removal contracts, including (but not limited to) health, safety, quality and financial performance, preparation of tenders,

Implementation of company policies and procedures.

Preparation of site specific HSE ASB5 Notifications, Plans of work and risk assessments.

Ensuring all work carried out complies with Control of Asbestos Regulations and all other regulatory asbestos Legislation.

Main Duties

Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of operational processes and procedures of the business.

To ensure the business complies with all statutory Legislation, any Regulations that are attributed to the business operations and internal procedures. Ensure that all requirements relating to the Companies Asbestos removal license is upheld to ensure ongoing and future accreditation.

-Carry out site assessments, collecting information for the formation of plans of works and risk assessments.

-Coordinate, monitor and manage asbestos removal activities to the highest standards.

-Plan staffing levels, recruit, and interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.

-To ensure that the Removal Supervisor and operatives duties and responsibilities are fulfilled and ensure that all operational and legislative responsibilities undertaken by the site teams are fulfilled as per current legislation.

-To assist the Compliance Manager in ensuring that all procedures and policies are upheld in accordance with the Company and statutory requirements.

-Ensure training requirements for all staff, including H&S, are identified, recorded, reviewed and records maintained in accordance with company procedures.

-To establish, maintain and develop effective professional working relationships with clients, staff and other key stakeholders. To help in formulation of business development strategies with the Environmental Services Lead and implement these as instructed.

To produce pre site specific assessments, plans of work, risk assessments & ASB5 notification forms to the current industry standard required prior to any asbestos removal operations taking place.

-To work with the Senior Contracts Manager to program asbestos removal workload for the region and identify required labour and supervisory resources, plant and materials in order to ensure all contracts are resourced to optimum levels for the company and productivity is consistently maintained at high level.

-To establish, maintain and develop effective professional working relationships with clients, staff and other key stakeholders.

-To immediately escalate to the Senior Contracts Manager any issues that arise associated with the day to day operational performance and compliance of the business.

-To assist the Senior Contracts Manager in ensuring that all procedures and policies are upheld in accordance with the Company and statutory requirements as well as involved in it's formation.

-Identify possible areas of business development to Senior Contracts Manager and provide any necessary support.

-Identification of training requirements for removals supervisory and operative workforce staff. Communicate and consult with workforce delivering training and tool box talks as required.

-To carry out at least 1 audit per month in line with current MES procedures. Complete any allocated corrective / preventive business actions to satisfactory standard and in required timescale.

Experience & Qualifications:

" BOHS P402 or RSPH equivalent." Hands on experience carrying out asbestos surveys on a mixed portfolio of sites." Will come from a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy." In-depth knowledge of HSG 264 guidelines." Able to use TEAMS / TRACKER systems.The Role:" Management, refurbishment, demolition, and re-inspection surveys." Carrying out sampling of ACMs." Ensuring to correctly bag and label samples and ensuring to send to the laboratory for analysis." Working in line with HSG 264 guidelines." Liasing with clients, providing excellent consultancy advice and support." Producing comprehensive reports for clients using industry relevant systems.
