Technical Trainer

Carbon60 are currently looking for a Technical Trainer with technical expertise around specific underwater technology and possesses a training background to join one of our interesting and ambitious clients in the Yateley area.

This client specialises in the designing, engineering, build and supply of underwater technology which are for various purposes such as navigation, imaging, surveying and communication amongst many others. These are built to the requirements of clientele who sit within a broad array of interesting yet demanding industries.

The purpose of this role is to not only deliver in-house/customer training but also design and develop new and engaging content. This will consist of a combination of workshops, courses and other learning activities in relation to this client's fascinating underwater equipment.

Due to the nature of this role, there will be field/offshore responsibilities to meet the requirements of customers - this typically includes a total of ten field/offshore trips lasting around 10-12 weeks annually. There is a payment system in-place to compensate for this time away, which can be discussed further.

Salary: Up to 48k p/a + Field/Offshore Payments + Company Bonus and Benefits

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and Deliver in-house/customer training courses and activities around specific technical equipment such as Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL), Long-Baseline (LBL) and Navigation Systems (INS and Others) using a variety of methods to both engage the audience whilst tailoring it to their skill level.
  • Gain and develop operational and up-to-date understanding around specific company equipment, carrying out any refresher activities necessary
  • Develop, maintain and formulate regular reports through necessary platforms to monitor and track course development and progress including parameters such as: Course Pass Rates/Grades, Participant feedback, etc.
  • Ensure compliance to health and safety regulations throughout both internal company sites and customer offshore sites, applying a 'safety first' approach at all times
  • Maintain understanding and awareness of relevant policies (H&S, Anti-Bribery Act, ISO 9001 Quality Management System, Etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Understanding of Ultra-Short Baseline and Long-Baseline (USBL & LBL) equipment and systems, including around operational applications in the field
  • A background in teaching/training with knowledge around different learning styles, teaching methods and blended learning theories
  • Knowledge of creating E-Learning content/courses
  • Degree level qualified or equivalent and certified/qualified to deliver training.
