Job Advertisement: Internal Audit Specialist
Location: York
We are looking for a dedicated Internal Audit Specialist to join our audit team, primarily focusing on the education sector. This role is based in York and will involve travel across the North-East and Yorkshire.
Role Overview:
You will work under the guidance of a manager and collaborate closely with our internal audit team to provide comprehensive audit and assurance services to a diverse client base. Your contributions will be pivotal in supporting both our audit and accounts teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and initiate audit assignments, preparing necessary documentation and liaising with clients.
- Compile detailed audit reports.
- Respond to ad hoc client queries and serve as a primary contact.
- Assist in statutory audits and accounts preparation as needed.
- Provide training and support to team members, and recommend improvements to our processes.
- Frequent travel to client sites in the North-East and Yorkshire.
Requirements:
Essential:
- AAT Level 4 qualification.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a general practice environment.
- Experience in conducting or leading audits.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in IT, particularly Excel.
- Must be able to travel to client locations as needed.
Desirable:
- Internal audit qualification from the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, IRIS, Access, and Xero.
- Experience or knowledge of the education sector.
