R S Cockerill are a family business based at Dunnington, near York supplying fresh, quality packed potatoes to the discount retailers, foodservice and ready meal manufacturing industries. As well as supplying the major crisp manufacturers with processing potatoes, helping to make some of the nation’s most recognisable snacks.

We operate throughout the potato supply chain from delivering seed potatoes to farms, right through to distributing the finished product to our customers. All of this activity is supported by our own transport operation. We operate 16 articulated units to support 90 trailers ranging from flats, to root crop bulkers, to curtainsiders and insulated vans.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, we are looking for an HGV Driver to work on a 4 on/4 off shift, including weekend work.

We operate modern DAF, Mercedes and Renault Tractor units using the latest in truck technology, always with driver comfort and safety in mind. We have a regular programme of reinvestment in trailers, all backed up by a robust preventative maintenance programme.

We are looking for HGV Drivers with:

• Full UK driving licence and HGV C+E licence (Class 1).
• At least 2 years’ experience on articulated trucks.
• Prepared to spend nights out.
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card, and be prepared to work within all the legal parameters of driver’s hour’s legislation.
• Drive carefully and safely, mindful that they are ambassadors for the business.
• Have a good level of communication skills, work as part of a team, with the ability to understand and share verbal instruction in English.
• A willingness to work variable hours and be flexible to the needs of the business.
• Show full co-operation and awareness of company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Have a positive and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude.
