The Company

An innovative and reputable North Yorkshire based construction contractor that is committed to delivering high-quality projects across a variety of sectors including heritage, education, commercial, residential and healthcare. Our client has over 30 years of experience within the industry, predominately covering refurbishment as well as new build projects with values typically 500k. At current, the business is looking to appoint a Working Foreman to deliver build & refurbishment projects across the wider York area.

The Role

A highly skilled Working Foreman, you will be leading and assisting the site team in the constructing and delivering new build and refurbishment projects, valuing up to 1m across heritage, education, commercial, residential and healthcare sectors.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

For this role you must possess the following;

  • Experience working as a Working Foreman on small works projects (50k to 1m)
  • Previous / current hands-on trade background (Bricklaying / Carpentry / Joinery)
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid (3 Day Course)
  • CSCS Card

Duties

  • Be hands on and help the guys on site as required
  • Lead and motivate the site team to ensure all works are completed on time
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all works meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
  • Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower and materials, to optimize productivity.
  • Enforce and uphold safety protocols and regulations on the worksite.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the site team and Senior Management.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to Senior Management.
  • Monitor project costs to keep project programmes within budget.

This is a Permanent Position with a competitive salary on offer for the successful candidate (40k per annum plus Commercial Vehicle, Fuel Card and Pension).
