Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum

About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join a reputable school in York starting in September 2024. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are looking to inspire students in the field of computer science.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Foster the learning and progress of pupils by being an effective teacher of both the subject and the students.
• Ensure quality preparation, resourcing, and planning for lessons to maximise student engagement and understanding.
• Use subject expertise, teaching skill, and proactive classroom management to maintain high standards and create a conducive learning environment.
• Implement effective marking and assessment strategies to provide feedback and support student development.
• Set high expectations and maintain positive personal relationships with students to encourage their personal skills, abilities, understanding, learning, and progress.
• Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
• Participate in departmental meetings, parent conferences, and school training events.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience in teaching Computer Science at secondary level.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
